Another high official attending the same sports event was the District Magistrate Mr H H Nomani a person of great generosity and who could feel the personality ofthe boy in front of him. Recognizing the unmistakable spark of leadership and potential in Ghani, enamoured by the young boy's qualities, inquired his antecedentsfrom the school authority. Having known that he was away from home and living in hostels with his uncle. He extended a heartfelt invitation to Ghani. He proposedthat Ghani to live in his home as a friend to his son, Iqbal. It may be mentioned here that after moving from his home in Comilla to Chittagong town he stayed with hisuncle who was studying in a higher educational institute.

This offer was not just about fostering friendship; it was an acknowledgment of Ghani's exceptional character and a chance to provide him with greateropportunities. Ghani, ever thoughtful and deliberate, took his time to consider this significant change. After having discussed with his uncle and a few days ofcontemplation, he recognized the value and potential of such mentorship and graciously accepted the proposal. Moving into the District Magistrate's house marked anew chapter in his life, one that brought him closer to influential circles and further nurtured his innate leadership abilities. His presence in the house was nothing short of transformative. Ghani was so proactive and full of life that even the gardener found himself amazed; Ghani would wake up early, tending to the garden before school, completing tasks with a diligence and enthusiasm that was rare for his age. His proactive nature extended beyond just chores; he was kind and considerate to everyone, earning the admiration and affection of all who lived there.

Ghani's time in the District Magistrate's home was not just a period of personal growth but a testament to his ability to inspire and lead by example, even in thesmallest of actions. His further education continued in Khulna where Mr Nomani was posted and finished his Secondary Education. In early 1936 he moved to Kolkata and got admission to Islamia College and at the same time he was helping his uncle, a well famed Dr. Sobhan who returned from Germany after finishing his MD degree. Young Ghani would work part time in the pharmacy and at the time continue with his studies.

Ghani balanced his studies with part-time work in his uncle Dr. Sobhan's pharmacy. Despite the tragic loss of his uncle to an epidemic, Ghani'sresilience saw him through, even as financial difficulties led him to discontinue his studies. His time at the hostel allowed him to share experiences with future President Justice Abu Syed Chowdhury, showcasing the breadth of his impact.

Ghani's response to an advertisement led him to join the Calcutta Fire Brigade in late 1939, where he played a pioneering role in encouraging Bengali Muslims to jointhe fire service. Although records of his service are scarce, his leadership in this arena is remembered by colleagues and serves as a testament to his trailblazingspirit.
